I attended the Xchange 2005 conference

At the same time I attended Xchange 2005 conference in Birmingham. Xchange is a series of conferences and the first is organised under the Brittish chairmanship of the European Union. Xcange focus on eLearning and it strikes me that we have not come that far in the last ten years:-)

Even if some progress have been made most of the speakers talked about allmost the same potential we heard so many times before. We still talks about the shift from teaching to learning and now also about fearless learners! We are still far from the breakthrough-point, still stuck in the schooling tradition, still far from actually assessing the skills and competencies everybody is talking about and that ought be the core of learning.

The Xchange conference was though a very good attempt to make the conference it self a learning experience with a lot of collaboration going on using technology and everything in the conferenceblogg hosted by
Alan November. The whole exercise was brilliantly conducted by Willy Roe.
