Petition Pearl Kanyange and Her Daughter Needs Protection By Swedish Governmment Not Deportation: ”As an Organisation, we are very sure and aware that Pearl Kanyange and her Daughter’s life cannot be guaranteed and protected due to press outings since she has continued to appeared in Ugandan Tabloid sometimes the wide harassment, arrests, family denials, and ex-communication from Religious Institutions.
Find Hope Organisation kindly ask Migration Authority and Swedish Government for Protection of Our Member and Her Child.”
(Via ipetitions.)
Pearl is a single mother with a now 6 year old daughter. She arrived in Sweden on the 7th March 2014. She had been granted a 2 year permission because she was moving in together with her fiancé. Almost immediately there was a conflict with the fiancé and Pearl was thrown out. With nowhere to stay and a return to Uganda impossible because of her sexual orientation she got help from the police and the municipality to apply for asylum. Migrationsverket decided in July 2015 to withdraw the permit to stay in Sweden and also denied her asylum. Since then Pearl have being appealing the decisions and know she is waiting for Migrationsverket to decide if there is enforcement obstacles.
Uganda is a very homophobic society where LGBTQ-relations is a crime and also very dangerous because of the public opinion. In Pearls case, who have been exposed in Ugandan media, this means that she would face the risk of being physically abused, raped and/or killed. For her daughter, who been attending dagis and has Swedish as her daily language this would means stigmatization and it would be almost impossible to find a school that would accept a child to a know lesbian.
Please sign the petition!!!!
